Michael Kulesza UX/UI designer

I'm Michael Wacław Kulesza, a UX/UI designer with 9 years of experience.

My story with graphic design started in 2009. It also ignited my curiosity about photography. My first steps in Adobe Photoshop included creating space art and photo post-production. A year later, I completed my first commercial projects, which were t-shirt prints and ads. I also began specializing in logo design.
In 2010, I started education of Graphic Design at Bialystok University of Technology. During my studies, I worked part-time at my first advertising agency. While the studies didn't provide me with business or specific digital graphic design knowledge, I learned many manual techniques that boosted my creativity. These included drawing, painting, and print techniques such as linocut, aqua-forte, aquatint, analog photography and even sculpting.

After three years, I started working with larger clients in corporations, where I learned to collaborate in large teams with many roles. I was responsible for web design, brand identity, prints, partially mobile apps, and my first UI designs, which were still made in Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator.
In 2015, I ran my first sole proprietorship and worked as a freelancer on various projects across different industries. While developing my passion for photography, I also contributed to the creation of the tookapic.com platform, including some brand design. I started my own a daily photography project about turning usual objects into lego and capturing the everyday life of a lego man. It was my most shared and commented project on the web. Many popular portals wrote articles about my work i.e. Mashable, Designboom (lego objects), Designboom (lego man), Fubiz, and some of them were even printed.
After two years as a multi-disciplinary graphic designer, I closed my business and began considering more narrow specialization.
I started my second and current business activity - KUL Studio, focused on UX/UI, web design, and some brand design projects. In everyday work I tried new tools like Sketch and Adobe XD, but ultimately I stayed with Figma. I worked as a freelancer with many individual clients, startups, and software houses.
Today, I'm continually developing my skills in product design and no-code development. I love taking on challenges in creating digital products where thinking outside the box meets business goals. My everyday mission is empower digital transformations in crafting exceptional experiences and interfaces to unlock product’s full potential.

One minute introduction

What people say

Michael is a very organized and detail driven person commited to high standards. During our cooperation he focused very much on the simplification of the UIs we and our customers were proposing, which lead to software products which are easy to understand by the target group. As soon as we will need a UX/UI designer again, Michael will be my first choice.
Michael was getting on with the team and the client. He addressed clients' needs, advised on the tool to be used, and advised alternative solutions for each request. He is a nice and smart designer. We enjoyed working with Michael and we will reach out to him when new projects come on board.
I can only say nice things about working with Michał. He has brilliant ideas, and he is always very dedicated to what he is doing. We were able to make together some pretty cool stuff. I highly recommend Michał as a UX/UI and brand designer.
Michal and me worked together at a daily base to help to create a design sytem in figma. We originally started at our company with Adobe XD but were not that happy with that program. Michal did the complete migration in a short timeframe about which we where very impressed. Extra to that one he added new things in figma which we didn't use yet until then. This improved a lot our experience when making the next wireframes out of that design System.  Besides that help from him he was always bringing good ui/ux knowledge to the table when making new elements in the design system and when making his own wireframes. I'm very sure that we would never had reached the current high level of expertise in UI/UX without his outstanding and accurate help. So yes, this is your man if you need a reliable and good ui/ux designer!
Michal is best UI/UX designer who I have been worked with. Always ready to help, nice and friendly. All designs were good documented, so I could say that they were self explanatory. It was pleasure to work with him and implement software based on his work. I really recommend Michal as designer.
